Live Gaming Update (early access)

We have started the new era of HypeHype by bringing players and creators together in the same place.

We call this Live Gaming and you can try the 1st early access version of it in today's update.

Why we’re doing this?

For the last 5 years we’ve been building a mobile-first game editor and platform. We made something powerful, but we failed to make it simple or fun enough for everyone. In practice, only a small group of super-talented creators and developers managed to push through the complexity and build amazing game experiences that kept players engaged. What is Live Gaming?

Live Gaming brings players and creators together in the same place in real time. Our LIVE hosted beta playtests in the summer showed that players engaged more when a Live Creator runs the gaming session and creates together with them. We believe live gaming and creating makes play experience more fun, social, and surprising.

• Creator chooses game or playground to play and create with.
• Creator goes LIVE as the host of the play session, shaping a game in real time.
• Players can jump in instantly and play along.
• The Live Creator reacts to players’ choices, ideas, and feedback, twists the rules, transforms the environment on the fly, making every session unique, unpredictable, and unforgettable.
• With full voice and video support on mobile, the Live Creator guides the session, so it feels like live streaming, except the audience is not just watching it - but instead they are playing it together with the Live Creator.

What changes?

While we're rebuilding and testing the HypeHype, the feed shows only Live Gaming events run by Live Creators. Other games won’t be discoverable or playable in the app during this early testing phase. The editor stays available IF you made games before the update; you'll keep full access to the projects.

• Feed and games - Live Gaming sessions only. Non‑hosted games are not discoverable or playable from the feed. Play together with the Live Creator, chat and react, get shoutouts and session rewards where enabled.
• Creator monetisation - All in-game purchases and engagement-based earnings are paused. Creators can cash out existing balance at any time.
• Creator compensation - During the transitioning month, we will pay 50% of creators last month’s (August 2025) revenue as a one‑time payment in October. We will be in touch with creators on how you can keep making new Live game experiences and continue earning in the future.
• Editing current projects - If you edited or published games before the update, you can keep accessing and building them in the editor. Any non-hosted games won’t be playable in the app during this early access phase.
• Creating new Live games - Tell us if you want access to be able to build for the new Live Gaming format.
• Hosting Live sessions - Tell us if you want to host LIVE sessions (your own games or other games).
